In October, I attended the Sitecore Symposium in Nashville. Here are my notes on the latest developments and improvements presented. Sitecore Stream aims to leverage AI capabilities to enhance productivity in the content-experience lifecycle.
Through Brand-aware AI, whether picking colors, crafting messages, or analyzing trends, each suggestion stays true to the marketing brand’s identity and values. AI-enhanced workflows enable the automation of tasks such as scheduling, approvals, and asset management. Generative Copilots simplify content creation and project management.
- Content Hub
Content Hub’s extensibility allows for adapting data, scripting, business logic, and permissions based on customer needs. Content should be contextualized for each specific business domain.
Sitecore Stream integrates AI-driven tools to enhance marketing efficiency. Content Hub features new AI capabilities and allows connections to other AI solutions in a flexible and composable DXP ecosystem.
1.1 AI-powered search
Content Hub’s search capabilities have included AI-powered search with semantic and visual search capabilities, reverse image search capabilities, and search by color. Semantic search is engine technology that interprets the meaning of words and phrases. Reverse image search finds visually similar images.
1.2 Authoring with AI
This helps users save time when generating ideas and reduces the chances of making mistakes.
1.3 Brief assistant
The Brief assistant is a feature in which AI acts as a research assistant, understanding the brand and generating a first draft. It works to structure a brief and suggest content that is aligned with the brand guidelines. The brief generated can be considered a starting point.
1.4 Tag Images with AI
There is an integrated AI service to get suggestions for tagging based on the taxonomy.
2. Order Cloud
Accelerator is a tool that automates the creation of Azure infrastructure and DevOps, providing lightweight OrderCloud administrative and shopping applications that are out of the box. It is designed to enable faster go-live processes. Here is the project link https://ordercloud.io/knowledge-base/accelerator
2.1 Delivery Configurations
It allows you to set up the delivery of specific messages or events to your chosen target.
3. Search and Discovery
3.1 Roadmap
3.2 Search result-refining
4. XM Cloud
4.1 Marketplace modules
Creating a marketplace module is an initiative aimed at delivering offerings. For this, there will be an SDK with the following characteristics:
- CLI with component registries of Sitecore-styled Blok Components.
- Clean authentication model for managing application permissions.
- Tenant controls for flexible multitenant app builds.
4.2 XMCloud Development Roadmap
5. Personalize
6. Others
Below are some notes of a couple of sessions presented in the Symposium.
6.1 The Path to a Successful Composable Future
At a conference, Christian Burne, CTO of Oshyn Inc. company, indicated the composable benefits:
- Page performance
- Shift Infrastructure Costs
- Reduce Vendor Lock
- Best of breed
Bellow some key takeaways:
- Some benefits with composable don’t require a complete rebuild.
- XP Customers that want to go to XMC should build headless on XP first using JSS
- Consider reducing dependence on XP now by implementing Personalize
- Pair going headless on XP or XMC with a site redesign
- New projects should use XMC unless there are good reasons for targeting XM/XP
6.2 LLMs for Sitecore Development
At a conference, Muktesh Mehta and Khushboo Sorthiya from Horizontal Company presented the topic of LLMs, a specialized type of artificial intelligence trained on extensive text data to understand existing content and generate original content.
Large Language Models (LLMs) were shown as code-generation utilities for software development with the following capabilities:
- Automated code generation
- Code completion
- Code refactoring
- Bug detection and fixing
- Documentation and comments
- Understanding code
Here are the benefits obtained in the software development area:
- The potential to reduce overall development cost
- Efficient code maintenance
- Reduce time to market for repetitive code
- Increased productivity of developers to focus more on complex tasks
- Increased code consistency
7. Conclusions
Sitecore Stream enhances marketing tasks by incorporating AI capabilities, allowing for faster market entry and more effective digital experiences for customers. New AI functionalities were presented during the Symposium, primarily integrated into Content Hub and XM Cloud. The goal is to leverage the benefits of generative artificial intelligence to help marketers and editors improve their performance on routine tasks carried out within Sitecore products. There are features that are ready for use as well as others that are currently in development. The expectation for these new products/features is high and promises significant benefits for everyone involved. We can look forward to the release of new developments and AI features in the near future. Additionally, a marketplace for new add-ons and modules will be feasible once the SDK and foundational components are ready to be used. Thanks for reading and sorry because the pictures don’t have the best quality.
